No. The Poetry Lab fellowship is not a paid position, however, we award fellowship stipends according to our grant operations budget (this is not set for 2023, so we can’t say yet how much it will be!). Fellows volunteer between 5 to 10 hours per week and attend a bi-weekly team meeting. In return, they receive:
🔹Free entry to all BrainTrust and BookBash events.
🔹Access to the Feedback Circle
🔹Opportunities to work as a teacher’s assistant in 4-week courses
🔹Free entry to additional one-time classes, panels, and lectures
🔹Paid Teaching opportunities
🔹The opportunity to drive programming development and select visiting teaching artists
🔹Creative career mentorship and development
🔹Technical training in teaching, marketing, and graphic design software
and more!

Commitment
We ask that fellows commit to a minimum of one year. The fellowship term is from November to November. We not do meet or hold events during the month of December.
Teaching Artists
Only Poetry Lab Fellows are invited to each one-time classes with us. If you are interested in leading classes, or would like teaching artist training, this may be the right opportunity for you! If you are an experienced instructor interested in leading a 4-week course, please stay tuned. We will be opening a portal for course pitches in the future.
Volunteerism
We are extremely committed to paying teaching artists for their time. Please know that this fellowship is a unique opportunity to work, learn, and grow as a teaching artist and literary citizen, but it may not be right for everyone. You do you, poet!
If you’d like to step into collaboration with us, please attend the August 23rd Information Session and then apply 😍.
