Zero-Derivation

DAY 19 OF 30 | PROMPT BY NANCY LYNEE WOO

Using Verbs “Wrongly” as Nouns:

1. Make a list of 10-20 verbs that interest you.

2. Now, in your mind, “convert” each of these verbs into nouns without changing the actual language. For example, the verb “to reveal” now becomes “the reveal.”

3. Write a poem using as many verbs-as-nouns as you like. See if you can get weird and play with meaning. Like, what would “a linger” look like? What would “a deny” sound like? What would “a retire” do? Let your verbs transform into nouns, and see what happens.
